http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yt1fYSAChxs&NR=1    Be patient and watch the entire clip This famous 1964 speech given by Democrat turn Republican Ronald Reagan- His wisdom is timeless: Here he talks then of over bloated and inefficient Government programs, lose of our personal freedoms, war, freedom, socialism, failed bureaucracies and misused tax monies

He even touches on mortgage foreclosures and Gov. Housing. Yet the a new generation of liberals still wanted to promote Freddy and Fannie Mae.

Follow the Money....The Obama and Frannie Mae Connection

I can not take claim for writing this -but the facts are all accurate and I wanted to pass it along. By the way  Obama is the second top grossing benefactor of contibutions from Fannie Mae --in fact the top benefactors are ALL democrats like Chris Dodd, Hillary Clinton...

" Here is a quick look into 3 former Fannie Mae executives who have brought down Wall Street:

Franklin Raines was a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Fannie Mae.  Raines was forced to retire from his position with Fannie Mae  when auditing discovered severe irregulaties in Fannie Mae's accounting activities. At the time of his departure The Wall Street Journal noted, " Raines, who long defended the company's accounting despite mounting evidence that it wasn't proper, issued a statement late Tuesday conceding that "mistakes were made" and saying he would assume responsibility as he had earlier promised. News reports indicate the company was under growing pressure from regulators to shake up its management in the wake of findings that the company's books ran afoul of generally accepted accounting principles for four years."  Fannie Mae had to reduce its surplus by $9 billion.

Raines left with a "golden parachute valued at $240 Million in benefits. The Government filed suit against Raines when the depth of the accounting scandal became clear. http://housingdoom.com/2006/12/18/fannie-charges/ . The Government noted, "The 101 charges reveal how the individuals improperly manipulated earnings to maximize their bonuses, while knowingly neglecting accounting systems and internal controls, misapplying over twenty accounting principles and misleading the regulator and the public. The Notice explains how they submitted six years of misleading and inaccurate accounting statements and inaccurate capital reports that enabled them to grow Fannie Mae in an unsafe and unsound manner."  These charges were made in 2006.  The Court ordered Raines to return $50 Million Dollars he received in bonuses based on the miss-stated Fannie Mae profits.

Tim Howard -  Was the Chief Financial Officer of Fannie Mae. Howard "was a strong internal proponent of using accounting strategies that would ensure a "stable pattern of earnings" at Fannie. In everyday English - he was cooking the books.  The Government Investigation determined that, "Chief Financial Officer, Tim Howard, failed to provide adequate oversight to key control and reporting functions within Fannie Mae,"

On June 16, 2006, Rep. Richard Baker, R-La., asked the Justice Department to investigate his allegations that two former Fannie Mae executives lied to Congress in October 2004 when they denied manipulating the mortgage-finance giant's income statement to achieve management pay bonuses. Investigations by federal regulators and the company's board of directors since concluded that management did manipulate 1998 earnings to trigger bonuses. Raines and Howard resigned under pressure in late 2004.

Howard's Golden Parachute was estimated at $20 Million!

Jim Johnson -   A former executive at Lehman Brothers and who was later forced from his position as Fannie Mae CEO.   A look at the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight's May 2006 report on mismanagement and corruption inside Fannie Mae, and you'll see some interesting things about Johnson. Investigators found that Fannie Mae had hidden a substantial amount of Johnson's 1998 compensation from the public, reporting that it was between $6 million and $7 million when it fact it was $21 million."   Johnson is currently under investigation for taking illegal loans from Countrywide while serving as CEO of Fannie Mae.

Johnson's Golden Parachute was estimated at $28 Million.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

FRANKLIN RAINES? Raines works for the Obama Campaign as Chief Economic Advisor

TIM HOWARD?  Howard is also a Chief Economic Advisor to Obama

JIM JOHNSON?  Johnson hired as a Senior Obama Finance Advisor and was selected to run Obama's Vice Presidential Search Committee

IF OBAMA PLANS ON CLEANING UP THE MESS - HIS ADVISORS HAVE THE EXPERTISE - THEY MADE THE MESS IN THE FIRST PLACE.   Would you trust the men who tore Wall Street down to build the New Wall Street ? "

Give Me the Maverick of the Senate.. the Sheriff of Government Waste ..Give me John McCain

If you are old enough to remember watching the TV western Gunsmoke: You might remember the show credits started with the rather stiff kneed Marshal Matt Dillon limping out to face off with a bad guy in the dusty main street of Dodge city. He did not offer fancy footwork or words to defeat the foe. The Sheriff watched with a steely, steady gaze as a his opponent looked for a way to defeat him. Without great fan fare, the mature, rather stiff postured Sheriff did not flinch and was quicker and more accurate on the draw than his arrogant and more youthful opponent. He took no pride in defeating the outlaw but he took grim satisfaction in knowing he had protected the people of his community from yet another threat.

McCain has been called the "Maverick of the Senate", and " The Sheriff" by colleagues noting that he is always trying to clean up and eliminate Government waste

This election we do face a threat from Obama. His socialist, BIG Government policies and his lack of understanding when it comes to foreign policy combined with his arrogance and weak leadership is a real threat. He may seem younger, and some may think he is faster on the draw but in the end his aim is off.  In these times of out of control Government spending and broken bloated bureaucracies..do we really need another inexperienced politician coming into Washington thinking that throwing more money at problems is the fix we have been waiting for?

The "Stiffness" that is John McCain

I saw someone write on a blog a concern that McCain had a  "hunched posture at the debate podium". This person then went on to suggest that he was "clinging to the podium for dear life"  Others Obama supporters have noted that McCain looked stiff and uncomfortable by contrast to Obama. The focus seemed to be on the physical postures rather than on the substance of their discourse. This does not surprise me since symbolism over substance seems to be the main thrust of the Obama campaign.

So lets talk about McCain "stiffness" shall we. If he appears stiff it is no wonder. The mans body was abused beyond belief as a Pow. The Obama camp would like you to disregard this is an old story and not relevant. Yet they make it relevant every time they attack McCain for his physical limitations. Indeed, McCain has limited use of arms, hands, his left knee, and neck. Both his shoulders were broken and re-broken and left to heal without medical treatment. This man not only lived in constant pain for the almost 7 years that he was a POW, but has lived with the residual pain ever since.

Younger folks in their 20's, 30's sometimes have a hard time grasping that as you age your mind usually out lasts your body in fact your experiences make you wiser even if you wake up with stiff joints.

Now as I draw close to what many call the "new 30's"  I occasionally wake up with aches and pains that I did not experience before. It happens. That's life. I know a lot of former jocks who complain about chronic pain in their shoulders, hips or knees that effect the way they walk, stand, turn their heads and this coming from the guys who got medical attention to deal with their injuries.

A friend of mine was an extreme sport enthusiast. At 30 he began experiencing chronic pain that made it almost impossible to move around the house without his body flaring up. He began wallowing in self pity and allowed it to consume him. McCain on the other hand has shown strength of character and mental fortitude. He not only managed to survive the initial ordeal as a POW, but he did not allowed it to stop him after his release, nor has he used it as an excuse to sit on his butt feeling sorry for himself like so many others who have suffered and lost far less.

Personally, When looking at the Presidential candidates I am not looking for a show horse. That said Obama's flair and youthful prancing does not do it for me. Nor does Obama's  La la land Santa Wish List Economics Policies which promise everyone something if he is elected.  I call it a wish list because he can not possibly begin to pay for his many new Government programs much less deliver these while reducing taxes as he claims.

So what do I want in the next President? I want a Work Horse who will pull the country out of the muck of over spending and Government waste. A President who understands that the Government already has enough of our money and that they just need to use it better. I want a President who is not afraid to take a stand and be unpopular with other politicians--even those of his own party-- to put America first.

I believe that McCain is the man for the job. The same strength of character that allowed him to overcome his ordeal as a POW and the mental fortitude that would not allow him to give up when facing overwhelming odds proves to me that he has what it takes to deal with our economic and foreign policy situations straight on. He can face the discomfort of a daunting task, knows what to do and is willing to go the distance. He offers us steady leadership, tried and true to his principles. McCain has the legislative track record that documents his commitment to reforming Gov.and a voting record to proves that he puts tax payers and our Country First.

Give me McCain, the Maverick Sheriff to clean up Washington Spending. Obama can keep his feel good wish list..and Socialist policies.. I want real quality, experienced, leadership!

Obama and La La Land Santa Economics

I lost my job due to economic changes and I started a small business. I had to rely on stated income so I had trouble obtaining a business loan.  I went to plan B which depleted my savings but allowed me to start my business on a shoe string budget all the while trying to keep my mortgage and other bills paid. Last year I earned $31,000. I employ one assistant, and contract employees from time to time.

I am a single woman. I drive an old car to avoid needing to pay a car note. I reinvest in my company as I can and live a with a tight budget. I donate time and sometimes money to charity if I have a good month.

Live in a home I bought in 1998 - a starter home. I could have qualified for more but fortunately I choose not to over extend. A good thing since my job situation changed dramatically.

I make ends meet --by the skin of my teeth and work an average of 6 days a week.

I am obviously NOT rich ...But I would rather be independent then a Socialist with my hand out asking other tax payers to pay my way! I take pride in earning my own keep and not taking Gov. handouts. I have to wonder whatever happened to personal accountability?

I Will vote for Sen. McCain..because I have studied his record and I have studied Obama's..( well what there is of Obama's)

Obama may say that 95% of us will get tax cuts, but he is inflating that number drastically....For starters he is including in that number the 40% of people who are not paying into the tax system to begin with. So what he is really talking about is instituting socialist tenants - with wealth redistribution. In addition most of what he is really talking about are tax credits - one time payments intended to stimulate the economy  and they not ongoing. So he is being VERY misleading.

Obama plays Santa Claus, a very loveable roll to play. He offers everyone policy gifts making him very popular with economically stretched voters, but he fails to tell us how he will pay for it. Obama hums and haws saying something's might have to give, but dances around to avoid telling us what specifically. Why ? Because he wants all the voters to believe that they will get their gift while he will cut someone else's gift off his Santa list.

So when the debate moderator asked repeatedly for specifics Obama essentially voted present and did not respond " yes this stays" or "no that has to go".

When Obama  heard him speak at the democratic convention I thought..How the heck does will anyone believe Obama can cut so much in taxes and offer to grow Government with new, huge, bureaucracies, and pay for it? I am betting that Obama never planned to deliver on most of his promises at all. He just wanted to promise something for everyone and if it worked to get him elected he would then back out of most of them using the poor economy and Bush policies as an excuse for not delivering.

Obama's would like to offer more bloated bureaucracies and quasi Government agencies - Does that sound like a good idea to you ? Can you say more Frannie and Freddie?  We see how well those worked.

As a small business -Obama will raise my taxes.  As is, I get taxed higher just because I am in business for myself and Obama wants to raise it yet more. So what does this mean for me, my employees and my customers?

I will have to cut back on my business expenses more than I already have. Unlike Gov bureaucracies I am already running lean and mean. I have too in order for my business to survive and prosper.  I will have to let my assistant go so she will be unemployed. FACT: most Americans work for small businesses not corporations so a lot of other folks will find themselves in the same position as me - having to let go employees. I will probably see a drop in business because I will have to raise my prices to cover the new tax burden and not to mention the increasing operation costs. Cost of goods and services will go also up as other business strive to compensate as well, which will add to my bottom line so I will have to pass that on to the customer. Some customers will no longer be able to afford my services. They will loose and so will I.

On energy: Obama nearly choked on the words when he indicated during the debates that he would drill for oil.  Did you notice a lack of conviction in words? I did! He lowered his voice, bowed his head as if reading his notes and mumbled. he did not mean it ..not one word. No need to be a body language expert to see that. Watch the debates again and see for yourself.  I think he will cave once he is in office because he is in bed with the extreme environmental groups.  So we probably will not see substantive drilling of any kind and the cost of gas that has been coming down since Bush removed the Presidential ban on drilling will reverse and go back up in price once the market realizes that drilling is not going to happen after all.

I have to drive to do my job so guess what I will loose more money their too. So will you. The Cost of groceries will go up since the cost of transport is going to go up. This will also be the case for clothing, school supplies, office equipment, services on utilities, and so on.... Something's may drop in prices of course.... houses for instance since most folks will not be able to buy a new home with all the other bills going up.

Here in Denver a nonprofit company that hires a lot of minorities and lower economic workers use to pay their bus transportation to help them get to work. Now the prices are going up and the nonprofit can no longer pay and they are loosing workers. Why? Because the very people who claim to want to help the poor won't drill!

On top of this Obama wants to close what he calls business loop holes. These loop holes for the average small business allow us to survive. Writing off a percentage of our operating costs helps us get small business off the ground and helps us compete against the deep pockets of International Corporations. Small business is the life blood of the American economy and and offers us some degree of independence in global economy. If Obama wants to run small business off main street and give all the work to Global Corporations he is certainly pushing all the correct policies to do just that.

Bottom Line Obama is a scam artist...He will say anything to get elected --promise everyone something--- playing at Santa Economics to get their vote. In the end he can not deliver on most of his promises and what he can deliver will do tremendous damage.

McCain at the Republican convention.. by contrast did not play Santa, he did not propose adding massive new Gov, bureaucracies, or pie in the sky tax breaks. He only promised to give tax breaks where he can and he would base it on what people actually put in. No, I won't get back as much as a rich guy but then he will still be paying a higher percentage than me so I will not bicker.  My small business will not be crushed by more taxes.  McCain will drill here and now while he pushes to explore other energy sources meaning oil prices will fall. Transportation prices will come down, as a result so will food costs, clothing , products and services. Small business will be able to grow rather than cut back. Employees will keep their jobs. Life may not be easy as we work through some economic issues but will be going in the right direction. McCain is a work horse not a show horse, McCain is not trying to play at Obama's mythical St Nick politics. He deals in the concrete facts and the details of attacking bloated Gov over-spending and corruption. I would rather my Country be run by a Maverick Sheriff than by Obama's with his La la land Santa Economic Policies.

Obama Knows He Can Not Deliver His Economic Plan

It is pretty much agreed that Obama can not roll out his Economic plan at least not the one he has been peddling since the convention. Most economic talking heads, even the left leaning ones, agree that to do so with our economic situation would be catastrophic for our Nation, sending us in the wrong direction.

Obama has been hedging about it for a couple of weeks now. Today he finally, sorta-kinda admitted as much when questioned. Now he has to adjust his plan to give us a plan more in line with what McCain has already been proposing. Once again McCain saw what Obama missed. McCain did not promise us the moon in tax cuts, nor did he offer pie in the sky or make massive promises because McCain knew it could not be done without jeopardizing the economic health of our Nation.
Obama's plan to to raise taxes on the self employed & small businesses would decimate our economy causing more unemployment, higher prices for goods & services. More Americans are employed by small Business than corporations or Gov. so if Obama has his way he will burden them more when they are already feeling the financial squeeze & facing threats to their economic survival.

Obama does not want to drill for oil because he is in the pockets of the environmentalist so kiss away drill here-drill now! That means gas prices will not come down once he takes charge.

His plans are to grow Government to be more and do more . All his BIG Gov. plans will of course funded by you and I one way or another & we know how great bureaucracies & quasi Gov. agencies work! Can you say Freddy & Fannie?

Look I suspect Obama knew all along he could never deliver the vast tax cuts he promised. He just planned on getting elected & later blaming Bush when he backed out on his promises.

Rep. Alcee Hastings Uses Bigoted Statements to Attack Palin and Instill Fear Among Jews and Blacks

"(CNN) – Rep. Alcee Hastings told an audience of Jewish Democrats Wednesday that they should be wary of Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin because “anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks.”
“If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention,”

Did he actually Say that? Shockingly Yes,  Rep. Alcee Hastings of Florida said this is speech to a panel about the shared agenda of Jewish and African-American Democrats on Wednesday. Talk about race baiting and and presenting a nonsensical argument. It is vile and bigoted for him to suggest that gun owners and hunters should be viewed as a threat against Jews and Blacks. I am stunned and outraged that the media did not call more attention to this. Rep. Hastings words are irresponsible and stoop to a new low. In addition, it is repugnant for him to single out Palin and suggest that because she hunts -she is somehow a racist. This is preposterous but not entirely new. Dems and Libs tried this already when they pointed to a photo of her wearing a Pat Buchanan button on her lapel when then as a Presidential candidate he had come to visit the Town of Wasila. As Mayor She agreed with him on some domestic issues but was actively campaigning for Steve Forbes. So this attack fell flat when all the facts came out.

Palin is in fact on record for being a strong supporter of Israel. She has also shown a great deal of support to a the small Jewish community in Alaska. She did not do this because she needed every vote or was trying to pander, she did it because she is a sincere supporter.

In the spring a decorated Israeli War hero turned film maker decided to do a story on Sarah Palin which was to be a part of a documentary on extraordinary women. Elan Frank, has stated with absolute clarity that he was impressed by Palin. He also spoke of her having a Israel Flag on the wall of her office. When he asked her about it she said she loved Israel and that friends who had gone there had bought her the flag.

Elan Frank is man who has risked his life to save the lives of others. He is man with strong views He is, as his friend David Suissa writes "an independent who's staunchly pro-Israel, and whose primary concern as a voter is the global threat of nuclear-based terrorism." Suissa goes on to tell us that Elan Frank "was awarded the Medal of Honor in 1982 after he rescued 25 Israeli soldiers caught in a nighttime terrorist ambush deep inside Lebanon. The conditions were so risky that Frank's co-pilot suggested they abort the mission. Frank ignored the advice, and under intense enemy fire, he made a daredevil 360 degree move to speed up the helicopter's landing and rescue the troops."

This is a man who remains in the Israeli reserves as a pilot even to this day. He is a patriot who loves America and Israel. Elan Frank is also no fool and in his evaluation "Sarah Palin is a very special woman. She has a tranquility about her, no matter what the situation is, she is a "natural-born leader"  According to his friend David Suissa who wrote  a super article entitled Shooting Sarah Palin, Elan is "not overly worried about Palin's lack of experience on the world stage. He's seen too many "experienced" and worldly politicians fall flat on their faces, and he sees in Palin a "natural-born leader" with good intuition who knows how to ask the right questions."

"Suissa goes on to write that Elan Frank " thinks Palin is the opposite of what they call in Israel a "freyer" (a sucker or a fool), meaning that she'll see right through the deceptive tactics of sneaky lizards like Ahmadinejad of Iran or Assad of Syria, who he believes would outmatch a well-intentioned and articulate diplomat like Barack Obama.

So yes, Frank seems to have fallen under her spell. But Frank is no freyer himself. This is a war hero who spent seven years in the Israeli army fighting a wily foe. He knows all about deception. He doesn't trust easily. He can tell real from fake and tough from soft.

If Sarah Palin is anything, he says, she's real and tough.

And in a dangerous world, Frank sees the appeal of a lioness who's real and tough. Especially a lioness who learns quickly, loves her country and hates to lose. "

I have not heard if Frank endorses either candidate however according to his friend he appears to have strong opinions. I have taken the liberty of quoting more from the Suissa Article. I would encourage you to go to the links I have attached at the end of this posting to read the entire article as well as the Speech Palin was to have given to at the UN protest rally. She is no anti Semite and to suggest other wise fly's patently in the face of facts.

The New York Sun printed the Speech Palin which was to have delivered at the UN Rally protesting Ahmadinejad of Iran, before Hilary pulled out and organizers caved and univited Palin.

Palins speech was strong, direct and bipartisan. She credited Hilary for her strong statements and condemned Ahmadinejad.

"Tomorrow, Ahmadinejad will come to New York. On our soil, he will exercise the right of freedom of speech — a right he denies his own people. He will share his hateful agenda with the world. Our task is to focus the world on what can be done to stop him......President Ahmadinejad should be held accountable for inciting genocide, a crime under international law...... Senator McCain has made a solemn commitment that I strongly endorse: Never again will we risk another Holocaust. And this is not a wish, a request, or a plea to Israel's enemies. This is a promise that the United States and Israel will honor, against any enemy who cares to test us. It is John McCain's promise and it is my promise."

Regardless of ones political affiliation - Sarah Palin does not deserve this type of slanderous attacks from hate mongers like Rep. Alcee Hastings.

Response to the Palin Speech -Printed in the New York Sun

Submitted by Marie, Sep 23, 2008 05:41
I had the opportunity to meet Palin and speak with her at some length. I was impressed through and through. I believe Palin is a rising star and she reminds me of another underestimated Conservative : Ronald Reagan who never flinched in the face of the enemy and who called for the wall to be torn down. Palin inspires and leads with her strength of conviction. She puts America first and yet she has a heart and and eye towards the global community as well. Those who would try to detract from the content of the speech claiming she is not responsible for the content are misinformed. She is an intelligent woman and the views expressed in this speech, reflect her long held support and love of Israel. Sarah has always been known as a great communicator - Even in Alaska her speeches she connected with her audience in a profound way. She is authentic and speaks from the heart. She means what she says and so it is not a surprise than any speech she would deliver even if it was not entirely written by her would have to reflect her authentic self. Pity the words could not have been delivered aloud...These are the words the world needed to hear! The words that ring true! The words that rally support, build confidence and bridge differences across party lines. McCain made an excellent choice and for that he earns even more of my respect.

Are You a McCain or Obama supporter? Do You Really Know?

I have a friend who lives next door. She and I have discussed issues of politics over the last few years. She and I are both single women, no children and self employed. We have struggled with the economy and keeping our bills payed while trying ot expand and grow our business. I know her political views pretty well. I know where she stands on most things.

My friend wants a reduction on inheritance tax, wants reduction on small business and self employment tax, wants for us to drill for oil now, wants to crack down on illegal immigration and their getting benefits. These are her major issues. The things she cares about.

So your probably thinking she is a McCain /Palin voter Right?

Well you would be wrong. the sad thing is my friend does not like politics and hates trying to keep up with what the politicians are doing. Her Cousin is a new Democrat Congressman and she is very proud of him although she has no idea how her cousin votes. When I ask her she shrugs and says "Oh I don't like to read what people say about him." So I asked her "Do you ask him where he stands?" She says she does not want to talk about it.

Flash forward: Oprah endorses Obama. My friend loves Oprah. She listens to Obama speak and watches the democratic convention and I was speaking with her on the phone and she says" I am watchingthe convention and it is sooooo gooooood" I ask her how do you think Obama plans to pay for the tax cuts and the new programs? you know - the specifics?" My friend gets frustraited by this question and says.." Marie I don't want to talk about it...can't you just feel good about what he says? " I say I need more than words and she sighs and hangs up on me.

This makes me sad... and very frustraited. How many times have you known someone who votes a party line because they have always voted that way. They don't like the mess of politics and they do not want to make an effort to educate themselves so they go with whoever the partisan candidate is or if they call themselves an independent they go with change for the sake of change not even questioning if the change is for better or for worse. Like my friend they just want their ears tickled with pretty words without substance.

In this campaign we really do have two candidates for change - but the type of change is really markedly different despite some similar sounding rhetoric at times.  McCain/Palin do not wish to alter the core fabric that makes up our Gov. They want to reform and scale down and restore it to its original purpose. Iron out the bureaucratic wrinkles so to speak. They wish to seek out, destroy and eliminate corruption and wasteful Gov. spending so that our tax dollars go further and do more then get flushed away through inefficient excess. They want to stimulate economic growth and recovery by scaling back taxes on small business and on individuals so that we keep more of what we make. They understand that small business are the lifes blood of our economy - More Americans work for small biz than for corporations. Small business hire new employees when they can and fire when they have to. Right now is not the time to raise taxes on Small business who are already facing higher transportation costs, higher general operating costs  and higher material or product costs. In fact in many cases they are already being forced to reduce their staff and production. McCain and Palin do not want to cripple small business under more taxes and mandates that they cannot afford. McCain and Palin understand the need for getting energy under our control and they are willing to drill responsibly to get the oil and the natural gas we need now while also investing in alternative energy sources for the future.

Obama doesn't get it...and sadly neither do his supporters. --- Just like my friend who does not want tomake the effort to understand politics and do the fact checking.  She wants her ears tickled with pretty words and promises and in the end if Obama wins she may need to hold on to those words -because when he is finished taxing her small business and raising the cost of fuel she won't have anything else to cling to.

Below is a short quiz - It asks your opinions and after you finish responding it will tell you where Obama stands on the issues to see if he is really the guy you do or do not want to be voting for based on your opinion. Take it and see how you do and send this link to all your friends and family.  If you are an Obama supporter it will confirm that you are voting for the right guy, if you are a Conservative it will probably confirm your vote, If you are an independent or undecided it might give you something to think about.

Governor Palin Speech to UN Protest Rally Would Have Been Great

I think that uninviting Palin to speak at the rally protesting the appearance here of President Ahmadinejad of Iran. was very unfortunate. Hillary had a chance to go and she choose not to because she found out Palin would be there. Would it have been any more or less political to allow Palin to speak with or without Hillary in attendance? It tells me that some strong Democrat lobbiests put pressure to have Palin uninvited.

I also ask you why Obama did not attend or at the very least send Joe Biden. Could it be that Obama has been playing both sides of the field with regards to Israel and Iran. Just as he voted present rather than yes or no on some of those most controversial pieces of legislation perhaps he did not want his ticket going on the record.

Sarah Palins speech was printed in the New York Sun- Great speech ! No wonder the Obama campaign did not want her to speak .
She was to present a bipartisan speech, a strong uniting speech and a speech which clearly spells out the dangers that we face on a global level.

The speech concluded with a promise:

"Senator McCain has made a solemn commitment that I strongly endorse: Never again will we risk another Holocaust. And this is not a wish, a request, or a plea to Israel's enemies. This is a promise that the United States and Israel will honor, against any enemy who cares to test us. It is John McCain's promise and it is my promise."

Bush Doctrine and Obama's 57 United States

Does Palin have what it takes to be be Vice President?  The Democrats want us to worry that Palin did not seem to know the comprehensive definition of the Bush Doctrine.

I listened as a number of seasoned political commentators discussed what they thought the exact definition of the Bush Doctrine was..They were stumbling around and the exact content varied a little form person to person, and station to station. Dave Gergen admitted that is was not commonly used terminology and that the term most commonly used was simply "preemptive strike"  He was not convinced that it was a fair means of judging Palins preparedness. The rest of the panel pretty much agreed. Hmmmm ok .

Still much of the media and most Obama supporters do wish to bring this up claiming that she is perhaps a foreign affairs lightweight.

So what if Palin seemed to struggle a bit with the definition of the Bush Doctrine at least she did not claim to have visited all 57 states as  Obama did ( Just in case Obama supporters do not know we only have 50 states) Yet I have not heard these same media personalities discussing Obamas short comings. He made some serious gaffs of his own but perhaps this one is the proof we need to build a case for  gross media bias. They were so quick to give him a pass on this saying he was probably tired. Wow, they were never so understanding when Dan Quayle spelled potato wrong.

Don't believe me ? Watch Obama explain his travels across our great nation :

Barbara Walters Might Best Serve Her Country -Out to Pasture

I am a college educated woman, self employed, and a politically aware feminist. I was disgusted with the way Senator McCain was treated on televisions 'The View'.  Barbara Walters, it seems has bought into her own press. She and her ilk are quickly proving how irrelevant they have become in this election.

They are out of touch with Mainstream America. Sadly Barbara and her liberal counterparts, look down their noses, pat themselves on the back and spend entirely too much time in their mutual admiration society to realize how disconnected from reality they are. It is a credit to Elizabeth that she is not counted as one of their own.

The liberal women of the view mooned over Obama with their incessant fawning over his appearance and speculating over a possible distant relationship to Brad Pitt in his family tree. Not a single tough question. In fact nothing of relevance at all. They were in a thither, nearly swooning Barbara Walters included.

Contrary to the way they greeted Obama, John McCain was greeted with barely suppressed aggression which then exploded as they pounced on him like a bunch of hyenas. Each verbal attack was followed by another and another never giving McCain time to respond to an accusation before another was hurled at him interrupting him in mid sentence. One unfounded insult after another being voiced with certitude. Joy said one of his campaign ads was an out right lie regarding a sex ed bill that Obama endorsed that would have Kindergartners being taught how to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. In fact Joy was wrong, not that she would know since she evidently did not READ THE BILL. Had she done so she would have seen that Obama lied blattently and the media gave him a pass.

I expected them to disagree with McCain on matters of policy and even to ask tough gottcha questions because of their left wing bias but whatever happened to having a civil, substantive interview?  Whatever happened to letting a guest respond to a question much less an accusation. The nearly hysterical women of The View might have learned something if they had taken a pause long enough to hear what McCain had to say.

As an authentic feminist, I was ashamed of their emotional and strident tones. I for one would like to promote women as calm, collected, strong, reasonable and fair in the arena of political discourse and these bloviating gals just set all left leaning women back with their ranting and foaming at the mouth.

Regarding Barbara: She has always comported herself with an air of inflated superiority. It always annoyed me in my youth watching her drone on as she asked questions to guests. She always seemed to try use affectations to put on airs, perhaps overcompensating for being viewed as a lightweight reporterette in a mans world. Whatever her reasons it annoyed me then and after seeing her on the view I think she has lost any credibility she may have once held. With all her years as a journalist you would have thought she was rookie. She could not even look Mccain in the eyes and spoke to him as if he were a recalcitrant child. I would have expected better from her.

I do believe it is time Barbara Walters was put out to pasture, stepping out of the way and to allow for a new breed of enlightened feminist to take the reins. Journalist Greta Van Susteren comes to mind although I doubt she would accept the a demotion from her current media gig to step into 'The View'.

As an authentic feminist I am thrilled with what I have seen in John McCain and Palin. I do not feel threatened by them nor do I have to agree with them 100% of the time but taken on a whole they offer in my opinion the best ticket. I have many friends and co-workers that I do not agree with but I will show respect and conduct myself appropriately when I disagree with something they have to say, which is evidently something the women of 'The View" apparently have forgotten how to do. I can not say they will be loosing a viewer since I was not a viewer to begin with. So no love lost.
